"Hi Michael and all your staff I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by whichever booking agency I had used to stay at your hotel just before Christmas. I gave you rave reviews as, after a nightmare trip through driving snow, your hotel was so welcoming with its log fire, great pub grub and friendly local folk to chat to in the bar.Not to mention your extensive range of malt whiskies - some of which you introduced me to for the first time.Your whole atmosphere was terrific and is still being talked about down here in Devon by my friends who came with me. As a long time expat Scot (from Aberdeen) I couldn't have been prouder of the welcome we received. The young lads Andrew and Angus, and Ewan who took charge of the fire were fantastic company - as were you all.My trip to the Borders was to pick up a new puppy the following morning. He is an absolute delight and will mirror all my memories of a short but very enjoyable stay. My very best wishes for 2010 to you and everyone "
