Toast yourself beside the warm glow of a real fire, as you enjoy your favourite tipple in the bar. You’ll find plenty of local characters to keep you company in this friendly, family owned hotel. With over 30 whiskies to sample, you could be here for some time!

For the real ale enthusiast, there are stock and guest ales to taste at your leisure. If you like to hear the person you are talking to, rather than having to shout over a music system, then the Clovenfords is the place for you. We’re not saying it isn’t lively though!

Come and pit your whits over a game of dominoes, cards, pool, and darts or choose from the selection of board games on offer – but don’t feel you have to. If all you want to do is sit back, relax, and soak in the warmth of the atmosphere, you couldn’t find a better place.

You’ll find lots to talk about in the bar – look up and above your head are 100’s of bar jugs, collected from far and wide. The walls hold many items of interest, from World War 1 helmets, to antique fishing rods and baskets.

The bar is part of the original building that was built around 1750 and retains much of the original panelling and the turreted bay windows, which have been transformed into comfortable seating.
